A color guard from the Milwaukee Metropolitan non-commissioned Officer Council led off the 48th annual Milwaukee Veterans Day Parade last year.
The Milwaukee Veterans Day Parade is in its 49th year of making sure we don't forget.
More than 1,500 military veterans will march through downtown Saturday to remind everyone of the contributions the military has made to American life and security. The parade steps off at 11 a.m. at the corner of N. 4th St. and W. Kilbourn Ave., and winds down Wells St. to the Milwaukee War Memorial.
About 150 units, including bands, will make up the parade. World War II veterans will make an appearance, and cadets from St. John's Northwestern Military Academy will be out in force.
Motorcyclists, including Rolling Thunder and HOG members, will also bring their roar to the parade route.
